Achieving RABQSA QMS LA status (ISO Lead Auditor)
in 1997, and AIEA status (Aerospace Lead Auditor) in 2003, Chris Atherton
has directed hundreds of registration audits on behalf of multiple Registrars.
These audits have taken him all across the United States, into Mexico
and Canada, and as far away as the Middle East. Though he has conducted
hundreds of third party audits in countless types of businesses, Chris
specializes in Aerospace, Transportation, Manufacturing, and Distribution.
His audit experience dates back to ISO 9001 and ISO 9002, and it includes
Registration, Surveillance, and Revisit assessments to ISO 9001:2000;
AS9100 and AS9120 standards. Chris has been "Witnessed" by
the RAB, ANAB and Industry authorities on several occasions, and their
positive reporting on his performance is testimonial to the level of
competence Standards International brings to the table
Prior to auditing and consulting, Chris was employed
by a major aerospace company as their Director of Quality Assurance
and QMS Management Representative. He worked for this company from 1984
- 2002. Chris was responsible for this company's ISO 9002 certification
in 1997, upgrade to ISO 9001 registration, upgrade to AS9100 registration
and ongoing maintenance and improvement of their QMS. Chris' duties
and responsibilities carried him all across the world, including France,
Germany, Italy, England, Australia, playing a lead role in this company's
Global "Quality Council".
Chris is a graduate of Pierce College, successfully
completing several courses in Industrial Technology, Quality Control
and Quality Assurance Management. Since then he has maintained a high
standard of continuing education, including successful completion of
and ongoing Accredited Registrar provided training courses focused on
ISO 9001 and AS9000/9100 Transition, AS9100, AS9120, ISO 9001, IS0 13485,
and ISO 14001 Implementation, Assessment and Changes. Other significant
training has included direct participation in the last several AAQG
Conferences and Workshops, successful completion of the Plexus "Train
the Trainer" course, RABQSA Accredited Lead Assessor Courses, Quality
Management, NDT, Inspection and Statistical Process Control courses.
Based on the high level of confidence audited Clients
have in Chris, many have continued the business relationship after Registration
by contracting for Maintenance of their QMS. Additionally, many companies
have referred prospective consulting clients to Chris, based on their
own positive, personal experiences with Standards International.
